Nouns & Verbs Collection is designed to help students better understand the actions associated with everyday activities. The worksheet is available so students will be able to identify and recognize nouns and verbs in a sentence. The lesson also helps students understand the correct spelling of verbs and nouns. Activity Procedure: Students are going to read the clues underneath the "across" or "down" categories. Each student will try and figure out the clues. When a clue is known, students will correctly spell the correct word in its boxes with one letter per box. Each word should fit together nicely into other words that are part of the puzzle.
The Grammar Race is a game where students race through the board game while answering questions and giving examples of English language adjectives, classroom objects, and chores. There are also free spots where players can pass through a turn without having to answer questions or give examples. There is also a spot where students are able to ask their peers a questions regarding the English language grammar. This activity enables students to identify common objects and become familiar with adjectives. Activity Procedure: Students are separated into groups. Each small group is given a board game. The object of the game is to see who can reach the end the fastest. Students simply roll the dice and depending on their number rolled, they move that many spots along the game board. Depending on the color the player lands on, they will have to complete a certain task where they might be answering a question or giving examples of something. Or the player may land on a spot where they ask one of their group members a question regarding English language grammar. Last, but not least, the player may land on a free spot where they are able to pass their turn without answering or asking questions or giving examples.
